Favorite track: Irena Balladina.

Really good stuff. It has like all of the things I love about Magma. I was worries when people said it was similar to the Merci album, of which I am not a big fan, but the only song the reminds me of Merci is "Dëhndë." The "baby love" lyric is just too lame for my tastes. But all of the other tracks are great.
2020/2021. More than 18 months without being able to make a gig. This space of time, this imposed "pause", was used to prepare a new album, a group album, as we had not realized for a long time.
Following the creation of a new line-up in 2020, we once again offered musicians to bring songs, Christian Vander never having made the deliberate choice to be Magma's sole composer. But in fact, none of the dozens of musicians who participated in this adventure had offered a new song for decades !
After "ZËSS", which hinted at a rather gloomy future, this bright and resolutely optimistic new album is the result of a collective work, an "Operation Kartëhl".

In 1970 an explosive compound of a cavernous bass and a hammering beat erupted from our record players, as an otherworldly
voice chanted in a mysterious language. Thus began a first, double album, simply entitled Magma. Its strangeness and creative force meant that Magma’s landmark debut immediately guaranteed them a place in music history....more
Mysterious, yet nostalgic, Isolubilia is truly an ode to the romance found in the pursuit of a mystery. Musically rich in turbulence and serenity, majesty and humbleness, this album made me feel both lonely, yet understood as an isolated individual. Perhaps we're all fellow romantics, looking up at the same night sky, trying to wring our own meaning out of the stars. I hope that pursuit never ends. The John
The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper
all of it good: the whimsy, the drama, the wild, the cosmic; deftly dancing the line between order and chaos, between the sublime and the vile, between the fathomable and the ineffable. puts the listener in a liminal limbo you don't get to be in (and still enjoy!) often. Tim Patterson

got recc'd this on youtube and loved it- reminds me a lot of late 60's and early 70's records i used to hear playing out of my parents' stereo on sweltering summer days. OPAL
