Depuis Novembre 1996 et le retour sur scène de MAGMA, un public nombreux se presse aux différents concerts du groupe, public souvent très jeune qui découvre, émerveillé, une musique qu'il ne soupçonnait même pas. KOMPILA vient donc a point, pour les aider a partir à la découverte des splendeurs du répertoire kobaïen. Les 22 extraits présentés sur KOMPILA invitent a un voyage qui va du premier album, KOBAIA, paru en 1970, à HHAI/LIVE", sorti cinq ans plus tard. Les grandes fresques qui ont fait la légende du groupe sont ainsi visitées
